White House spokeswoman's 'prophecy' ahead of Correspondents' Dinner gun attack: 'There will be gunfire tonight'

The spokeswoman for the White House, Karoline Leavitt, said on Fox News, a few minutes before the White House Correspondents' Dinner began, that it “will be fun, exciting” and that “there will be gunshots tonight in the room.”

“It's going to be funny, it's going to be fun. There's going to be gunfire tonight in the hall,” said Karoline Leavitt ironically on Fox News, not knowing that gunfire would break out a few hours later.

With this statement, the spokeswoman probably wanted to evoke a speech by a Trump “ready for battle” and cause sparks and “Shooting” figuratively, a cut full of irony that turned into a bad prediction.

Gunfire broke out a few hours later, outside the gala room of the Correspondents' Dinner – which Donald Trump was attending for the first time since he was president.

Donald Trump, the First Lady and members of the administration were evacuated and put to safety.

The head of state then made press statements, in which he welcomed the speed of the intervention of the armed guards, who retaliated with gunfire.

According to the first information, the author of the armed attack at the Correspondents' Dinner is Cole Thomas Allen, 31 years old, originally from Torrance, in California.

Almost half a century ago, former President Ronald Reagan survived an assassination attempt in the very same place where, on Saturday, April 25, the armed attack took place during the White House Correspondents' Dinner.
