Explosion at a training ground in Russia. There is a recording
The Yasnyi training ground is one of the few places where the Russian army can freely test long-range missiles. There could have been a failed launch of the RS-28 Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile, also known as Satan II, says the Ukrainian website Defense Express.
Weighing approximately 200 tons and measuring over 30 meters in length, the rocket is one of the heaviest missiles in the Russian army. The color of the cloud may be related to the type of fuel mixture used in the rocket. Satan II uses fuel based on highly toxic heptyl and amyl.
This is another problem for Russia with the RS-28 Sarmat missile. Last year, a similar explosion damaged the Plesetsk spaceport.
