Poland said that on Wednesday he mobilized his own air and NATO forces to break down Drone, after an air attack on Russia over the western Ukraine, being for the first time since the beginning of the war when Warsaw hired forces in his airspace, Reuters reports.

The military command of Poland said that the country's airspace has been repeatedly violated by “drone objects” during the Russian attack over the border with Ukraine.

“An operation is in progress aimed at identifying and neutralizing these objects … weapons have been used, and military personnel are carrying out actions to locate low objects,” says in a statement.

The command said that the military operation is in progress and urged the population to stay at home, mentioning the Podlastkie, Mazowieckie and Lublin regions as the most exposed to risk.

“The Operational Command of the Polish armed forces monitors the situation, and the subordinate forces and units remain in maximum alert state in order to react immediately,” the statement said.

The Polish defense minister, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, said Polish aircraft “used weapons against hostile objects.”

“We are in permanent contact with the NATO command,” he added on X.

The radars followed over 10 objects, and those that could represent a threat were “neutralized”, the operational command said.

“Some of the drones that entered our airspace have been shot down. Searches and efforts to locate potential collapse places of these objects are underway,” the command said in a statement.

“Act of aggression”

The Polish army said that the entry of drones into the country's airspace during the Russian attack was an “act of aggression” that threatened the safety of the public and which required the objects to be shot down.

“This is an act of aggression that represented a real threat to the safety of our citizens,” said the Operational Command of the Polish armed forces on X.

Poland informed the Secretary General of NATO about the actions taken by the country about the objects that violated the country's airspace, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Wednesday.

Warsaw Chopin Airport, the largest in the country, has announced that its air space was closed due to military actions.

The Federal Aviation Administration has previously said that Chopin Airport was one of the four temporarily closed Polish airports, including the Southeast Rzeszow-Jasionka Airport, a center for passenger and weapons to Ukraine.

The Russian Defense Ministry did not respond immediately to Reuters's request to comment on the information.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has been informed about the information on Russian drones above Poland, according to CNN. The State Department did not respond immediately to the comment request.

On Tuesday night through Wednesday, the whole of Ukraine, including the western Volyn and Lviv regions, which bordered with Poland, have been under alerter alert, according to Ukrainian air forces.

Previously, the Ukrainian air forces reported that Russian drones entered the Poland's airspace, a NATO member, representing a threat to the city of Zamosc, but later deleted this statement from the Telegram channel.
