MApN invited drone manufacturers to go into real operations before signing contracts. Miruta: “Solutions are found in the field, not in the office”

The Minister of Defense, Radu Miruţă, announces that companies producing drones and counter-drone systems, which participated in the exercise in the Midia range, were invited to go on real operations, together with the Romanian Army soldiers and donate products to be used by the soldiers, and those that qualify will go forward for a possible contract, informs News.ro.
“A first for the Army: the companies producing drones and counter-drone systems were invited last week to show concretely what their products can do in the training ground at Capul Midia, in an exercise organized by the Ministry”, says Minister Radu Miruţă in a post on Facebook.
He shows that it is a first for the Romanian Army. “Not in the offices in Bucharest, at Capul Midia in the training ground, it was a challenge for the companies that say they have the capacity to produce drones and anti-drone solutions to come to the largest exercise organized by the Romanian Army together with NATO, where they can demonstrate the capacity of their products. Because I had all kinds of meetings at the ministry, with all kinds of companies, who said in PowerPoint and in PDF files that they do and that they like, I invited them to demonstrate this ability”, he stated the Minister of Defense.
Miruţă specifies that the specialists of the Romanian Army followed the technical characteristics of the products they saw and observed how these products work and what they are capable of doing, and next week they will make an official invitation to the companies that match the needs of the Romanian Army, to go in real operations, shoulder to shoulder, with the soldiers of the Romanian Army, to donate some of the respective products, so that they can be used by the soldiers Romanian Army.
“We will make a feedback file, after which the ones that qualify will go further in a commercial interaction. Because the solutions are found here, in the field, where combat scenarios are validated, not in the office where all kinds of files are presented in which it is said commercially that various things are happening and being done”, the minister emphasizes.
