Two Romanians, involved in the train accident in Denmark. The announcement made by the MAE related to their condition

Two Romanian citizens are also among the injured in the railway accident near Copenhagen on Thursday morning, announced the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu, from Thursday night to Friday.

“In the railway accident that took place on Thursday morning, April 23, in Denmark, between the towns of Hillerød and Kagerup, approximately 40 kilometers north of Copenhagen, two Romanian citizens were also involved. They are fine, out of any danger,” announced Oana Țoiu.

The Foreign Minister thanked the Danish authorities “for the professional way in which they kept in touch with us and speedy recoveries to the injured”.

Two trains collided head-on Thursday in Denmark, north of Copenhagen, on a railway line connecting the towns of Hillerod and Kagerup. Following the accident, at least 17 people were injured, four of whom were in critical condition, the emergency service told Reuters.

The accident caused serious damage to the front of both trains, the cabins being completely deformed and crushed under the impact, and the windshields and windows being shattered, according to the images captured on the scene.

Rail accidents are rare in Denmark, and an expert suggested that one of the train drivers ended up on the wrong line, ignoring a stop signal as the train left the station, according to the BBC.
