In the village of Shalinskoye, Krasnoyarsk Territory, a residential building almost burned down due to a child’s prank.

According to the regional emergency department, the incident occurred on the morning of April 17. While the mother was sleeping, her children, 2 and 4 years old, set the mattress on fire while playing. The woman woke up from the smoke, called the fire department and evacuated the house with her children.

“After 4 minutes, employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, consisting of 6 people and 2 pieces of equipment, arrived at the scene. It took them another 17 minutes to completely extinguish the fire on an area of ​​2 square meters. meters,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations clarified.

The department reminded that children need to be explained the dangers of playing with fire. Ignition sources must be kept out of reach. In addition, it is necessary to install a fire detector that will wake you up in the event of a fire.
