Domański: Poland at the G20 table is proof of the strength of the Polish economy

Poland at the G20 table – wrote the Minister of Finance and Economy Andrzej Domański on his profile on the X platform. He emphasized that this is proof of the strength of the Polish economy.

“Poland at the G20 table. In Washington, we are talking about economic growth and the future of the global economy. Not on the margins, but where key decisions are made. This is proof of the strength of the Polish economy,” wrote Andrzej Domański, Minister of Finance and Economy, on his profile on the X platform on Thursday.

Minister Domański and the president of the National Bank of Poland take part in the meeting of finance ministers and governors of central banks of the G20 countries. The meeting is held in Washington as part of the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group. This is the first formal meeting at the level of G20 finance ministers and central bankers during the US presidency of the Group.

Minister Domański also met with American Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, with whom he talked about strengthening cooperation in the field of investments, energy and defense.

Poland is participating in G20 meetings this year – both in April at the level of finance ministers and at the December leaders' summit – de facto replacing South Africa, even though South Africa is still a formal member of the group. This was due to the US decision not to invite the African country to the meetings due to the dispute over the fate of white farmers in this country and Washington's accusation of their alleged “genocide”. Previously, Polish ministers participated in G20 meetings, but as specially invited guests. (PAP)
