In Krasnoyarsk, about 140 meters of the collector will be replaced after the accident on Semafornaya

Today, First Deputy Head of Krasnoyarsk Alexander Matsak held a visiting meeting at the site of work to eliminate the consequences of the destruction of the roadway above one of the main collectors on the right bank of the city.

Let us remind you that the accident happened on the afternoon of April 9. Since then restoration work is going on around the clock, without interruption. In one hour, about two thousand cubic meters of sewage flows through this pipeline with a diameter of 1200 mm to the right-bank treatment facilities, which comes from all over the Sverdlovsk and partly from the Leninsky and Kirov regions.

​To ensure stable power supply to the construction site and pumping equipment, KrasKom will lay a separate power line from the sewerage pumping station on Parovoznaya Street.

“We will replace the reinforced concrete drainage collector along an entire span from well to well with fiberglass pipes, which we plan to order from the Ural Pipe Plant. This is the closest point where pipes of the required diameter and required for transportation of household wastewater​ parameters. The laying of drainage networks after preparing the pit will be carried out “on wheels” as the pipes arrive from the manufacturer. In total, it is necessary to lay about 140 linear meters of a new pipeline,”​ — said the chief engineer of KrasKom Andrey Babiy.

Repair work is carried out without turning off the drinking water supply. A temporary bypass pipeline was built to pump sewage water from the pit, but specialists still have to work in conditions of a constant flow of wastewater, so in addition to the first dewatering line, construction of a second line with a diameter of 500 mm will begin today, which will ensure 100% pumping of wastewater, bypassing the construction site of a new section of the collector.

“More than 2,000 houses are connected to this collector. We cannot leave them without drainage. Therefore, it was decided to install three pumps, which will be used during the entire period of restoration work. Detour schemes cannot completely eliminate traffic jams. The closure of Semafornaya leads to congestion on the Avenue named after the newspaper “Krasnoyarsky Rabochiy”, Michurin Street, 60 Let Oktyabrya Street, and Oktyabrsky Bridge. We hope drivers will understand the temporary inconvenience. I would like to note that after all work is completed, the KrasKom company will completely restore the asphalt surface on Semafornaya. Elimination of the accident is under the constant control of the head of Krasnoyarsk,” said his first deputy Alexander Matsak.
