The head of the Pentagon avoids answering questions about Greenland


Appearing on Thursday, hearing before the Commission of the House of Representatives for the Armed Forces, Pete HegeSeth twice refused to answer the congressmen's questions directly about the plans of armed Greenland, as well as Panama.

Asked by the deputy head of the commission, the Democrat of Adam Smith, whether he has a specifically a plan of the invasion of Greenland or Panama, the Minister of Defense said that the Americans would like his ministry to be prepared for everything.
“Speaking on behalf of the American nation: I don't think the Americans vote for the president (US Donald) Trump because they hoped that (USA) they would invade Greenland” – Smith replied.
The Republican Congresmen Mike Turner also asked for additional explanations, asking the head of Pentagon to confirm that he had no plans to invade Greenland. HegeSeth again replied that he had plans for many scenarios.

“You don't testify today that there are plans to take over the strength or invasion of Greenland in the Pentagon, is right? Because I have a damn hope that this is not your today's testimony” – Turner said.
