In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the former deputy head of the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Emelyanovsky” is suspected of committing fraud using his official position.
The illegal act was discovered by the local security operatives of the regional headquarters. It was established that in 2022, the defendant illegally removed a car from a special parking lot that had been placed there during an investigation into a fatal accident, and used it for personal purposes.
“According to the investigation, on October 22, 2021, an accident occurred on the road near the Kryuchkovo station in which two men died. Police officers seized the Niva car from the scene of the incident and placed it in a specialized parking lot. The suspect, who was conducting a procedural investigation into the accident, convinced the owner of the car to refuse to receive it, providing deliberately false information about the costly payment for tow truck and parking services, as well as significant damage to the vehicle. Then he illegally transported it from the special parking lot to his friend’s garage, where he kept it for personal purposes, thus turning the car into his property,” the Investigative Committee said.
