Donald Tusk, as the leader of the Civic Platform and the architect of the current government coalition, for his supporters is a symbol of returning to European normality after years of PiS rule. Critics, however, see in it a policy detached from everyday problems of citizens, and describe his leadership style as confrontational.

These divisions are further deepened by the fact that Tusk has been active in EU institutions for many years, which some read as evidence of his experience and international authority, while others – as a dismissal from national matters. In the context of Polish policy, in which the slogans of sovereignty and patriotism play an increasingly important role, such a biographical background is sometimes used by opponents.

Tusk sees 48.4 percent positively respondents, negative – 47.6 percent The difference is within the statistical error, which proves the impassion that has been ongoing for months in the receipt of the prime minister.

According to the study, 15.9 percent respondents assess the activities of Tusk “definitely positive”, and 32.5 percent. “rather positive”. At the same time, the largest single result in the entire survey is the answer “definitely negative”, which was marked by 33 percent. respondents. Another 14.6 percent described his work as “rather negative”. Only 4 percent are neutral or undecided. respondents.
The burden for Tusk is also the strong mobilization of the PiS electorate, which not only did not reduce its activity after the loss of power, but even treats the criticism of the government as a form of defense of the achievements of recent years. Thus, the prime minister found himself in a situation where each decision causes extreme reactions – from the enthusiasm of his supporters to acute criticism of opponents.
