Friday's announcement by the Minister of Energy included maximum fuel prices, which are valid from Saturday, April 11 to Monday, April 13 inclusive. As advertised 95 petrol will cost a maximum of PLN 6.14 per liter, 98 petrol – PLN 6.73 per liter, and diesel – PLN 7.68 per liter. “PLN 6.14 per liter of 95 is the lowest maximum retail price since the beginning of the CPN package,” emphasizes the Minister of Energy, Miłosz Motyka, in a statement.

Minister of Energy on fuel prices: there are no reasons to withdraw from the program
After the package of laws known as CPN (fuel prices below) comes into force, the Minister of Energy announces the maximum fuel prices applicable at stations in Poland every day. They are valid for every subsequent day of the week, and prices for the weekend and Monday are announced on Friday. According to the ministry's latest announcement, the price of gasoline has dropped to the lowest level since the CPN package was in force.
The mechanism for determining maximum fuel prices is based on a specific formula. It takes into account the average wholesale price of fuel on the domestic market, to which taxes are added – excise duty, fuel surcharge – as well as a sales margin of PLN 30 per liter and VAT.

Selling fuels above the established maximum price has serious consequences. Entrepreneurs face penalties of up to PLN 1 million. The National Tax Administration is responsible for monitoring compliance with the regulations.
It is not known how long this system will operate. “The price reduction mechanism will be maintained as long as necessary. As of today, there are no reasons to withdraw from the program. The maximum retail price is a derivative of the market situation, and more specifically – wholesale fuel prices. If it were not for the CPN package, the price of diesel oil would reach as much as PLN 9 per liter,” emphasizes Minister Motyka in a statement quoted on the government website.
