This is the last moment to pay the RTV license fee. The penalties are severe

Although many Poles expected the abolition of the radio and television license fee, and discussions on this topic return every year, RTV fees still exist and inspectors check whether there are any abuses in this respect. Not only has the RTV subscription not disappeared, but it will be bigger next year. If the inspector finds a functioning radio or television receiver that has not been registered, he may impose a fine of 30 times the monthly fee..

TV subscription. High penalties for failure to register
Currently, as part of an RTV subscription, you have to pay PLN 9.50 per month for a radio receiver, and PLN 30.50 for a television or television and radio receiver. Fees will increase from next year. As reported by “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”, from January 1, 2027, the monthly fee for a radio will be PLN 10.80, and for a TV set or TV set with a radio – PLN 34.50. The fine for not registering a TV set will be as much as PLN 1,035, and for a radio – PLN 324.
Lack of a paid TV license fee in the event of an inspection may be unpleasant, among others: for retirees. Part of your pension benefit may be seized as part of enforcement proceedings. A pensioner who does not pay within the prescribed period may expect to be asked to settle the debt. The tax office may seize part of the pension until the debt is fully covered.

The payment deadline for the RTV subscription is the 25th of each month. In May, this day falls on a Monday. You can expect an inspection at any time, and the Financial Service Center of Poczta Polska is responsible for these in Poland. The next step is enforcement proceedings.
It is worth remembering that not everyone is obliged to pay fees. People who are over 75 years old, as well as those included in the first disability group, veterans who are war or military disabled, and people who are over 60 years old and are entitled to a pension not exceeding half of the average salary are exempt from paying the RTV license fee.
