As the Ministry of Finance emphasizes, the inspections are ongoing and include verification of whether sellers comply with the established maximum prices. The system is intended not only to limit the effects of the fuel crisis, but also to ensure real compliance with regulations.

The scale of activities is large. In the period from March 31 to April 6, as many as 2,806 inspections were carried out at gas stations. According to KAS spokeswoman Justyna Pasieczyńska, abnormalities were detected in 46 cases.
Inspections do not slow down even during the holiday season. Only between April 3 and 6, 577 inspections were carried out, of which violations of fuel price regulations were found in 26 cases.
Fines may reach one million zlotys
Although the actions are preventive in nature, some entrepreneurs are already suffering the consequences. If fuel is found to be sold above the maximum price, administrative proceedings are initiated.
According to the regulations, the fine may amount to up to PLN 1 million. Proceedings are conducted by heads of customs and tax offices on the basis of the provisions of the Tax Ordinance.

Poland is not the first country to introduce such solutions. Similar actions were taken earlier in Italy, where – despite price reductions – some stations did not adapt to the new regulations.
The local government decided to carry out intensive inspections, involving the tax services. The Polish administration implemented a similar supervision mechanism from the beginning to avoid abuses.
The National Tax Administration announces that the activities will continue, also in the coming weeks. The goal is not only to detect violations, but also to discourage them.
For station owners, this means the need to strictly comply with the regulations, and for drivers – greater certainty that the prices at the pumps correspond to those announced by the state.
