A young St. Petersburg woman, at the behest of scammers, flew to Krasnoyarsk to open a safe (video)

A 19-year-old resident of St. Petersburg was detained in Moscow, who became an accomplice of swindlers in committing the theft of property in the Krasnoyarsk Akademgorodok.

The crime was committed on April 4 – jewelry worth a total of 135 thousand rubles disappeared from the private home of a 42-year-old Krasnoyarsk woman. During the investigation, it turned out that the day before her 16-year-old daughter received a call from telephone scammers and convinced the girl that all savings stored in her home needed to be urgently declared. Under pressure, the schoolgirl said when no one would be home and put the keys to the front door in the mailbox.

While viewing the recordings from CCTV cameras, it was established that the keys were taken by a 19-year-old St. Petersburg woman, who committed the theft on the same day and flew to Moscow to hand over the stolen property. A tip was drawn up on the suspect, according to which she was detained at the capital’s airport.

“Krasnoyarsk operatives went on a business trip to deliver the suspect and clarify all the circumstances of the crime. As it turned out, in December last year the girl received a call from a stranger with the words: “Flowers are being delivered to you, give me the code to receive it.” Then came a call from the “bank security service” with a message that her data had been taken over by fraudsters in whose name a power of attorney had been issued to use it, and to cancel the document she needed to cooperate with them. At the stranger’s direction, the girl flew to Krasnoyarsk in early April and strictly followed his instructions: she purchased tools, gloves, glasses and a bag. Then she took the keys from the box, went into the house and tried to saw through the safe with a grinder, but to no avail. The suspect stole part of the property and disappeared,” the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

A criminal case was opened against the detained St. Petersburg woman under Part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft committed with illegal entry into home”, the sanction of which provides for a maximum penalty of up to 6 years in prison.
