It is known how long it may take to restore production at Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA). The global aluminum exporter announced that the resumption of aluminum production at the Al Taweelah smelter in Abu Dhabi will take up to a year.
“Our Al Taweelah plant is the backbone of the global economy and makes a significant contribution to global supply, which makes this incident negatively impact industry and prosperity around the world,” said EGA's CEO.
As we reported in Business Insider Polska, in order to resume operations of the steelworks, EGA must repair the damage to the infrastructure and gradually restore each of the reduction chambers to operation.
