The Ministry of Health announced statistics on HIV-infected residents in the Krasnoyarsk Territory

About 25 thousand people living with HIV infection live in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The most affected areas are Norilsk, Krasnoyarsk, Kansk, Lesosibirsk and Taimyr. These data were provided by the regional Ministry of Health.
“Despite a decline in the number of new cases: 1,365 in 2025, down 13% from the previous year, the total number of people living with HIV continues to rise,” noted in the regional Ministry of Health.
WITHThe most common route of transmission is sexual. It accounts for 90% of all infections. Among newly diagnosed cases, men predominate – 54%, of those newly identified women – 76.1% were of reproductive age. The proportion of people over 50 years of age increased to 21%.
In 2025, more than 1 million people were tested for HIV in the region, which exceeded the planned indicators. Mortality among HIV-infected people decreased by 11%.
The region continues to implement the state strategy to combat HIV infection. In particular, testing coverage is expanding, access to treatment and prevention programs is increasing.
Among the priority tasks are the development of mobile forms of diagnostics in remote areas and strengthening work with vulnerable groups of the population, including people in institutions of the penitentiary system.
