On Thursday, the missile hit the Shama base, which is the headquarters of the Italian contingent of the UNIFIL mission, reports the Ansa agency. The Italian soldiers were not injured and the damage to the facility was minor. The services are currently determining the origin of the rocket.
Defense Minister Guido Crosetto remains in constant contact with the Chief of the Defense Staff, the commander of the Italian Joint Operations Command and the commander of the Italian contingent.
Polish soldiers in UNIFIL
Polish soldiers also serve in the UNIFIL forces deployed in southern Lebanon.
On March 29 and 30, three Indonesian members of the UN forces were killed in this area.
Since the turn of February and March, Israeli attacks on the positions of pro-Iranian Hezbollah in Lebanon and retaliatory actions by this group have been ongoing.
