The quadruped, by his name Billy, a King Charles Spaniel cavalier for three and a half years, was taken from Kibbutz Nir oz by Hamas fighters. The dog belongs to the former wife of one of the Israeli hostages who died in captivity, informs the Daily Mail.

The master assumed that Billy was killed during the bloody attack, but last week, the dog miraculously appeared in Gaza. An Israeli reservist operating in the south of the Gaza strip said that the animal was approaching, while his unit checks buildings near Rafah.

Billy stayed four days with the soldiers, then brought to Israel and taken to a veterinarian. The doctor discovered that the quadruped had a microchip, which allowed the owners to identify.

Images with Billy appeared on social networks. “We are in total shock and overwhelmed by emotion that we will see it tomorrow. I did not think it survived. It is a miracle from heaven,” said a close relative of Billy's family for the Israeli press.

The family, who had adopted another dog of the same race to alleviate the suffering of children, said he would keep both dogs.

Meanwhile, in Gaza, the humanitarian crisis continues to worsen. 58 Israeli hostages are still in captivity, and the Gaza strip has not received humanitarian aid since March 2, despite the uninterrupted attacks of the Israeli army.

Israel has announced that it will continue to block the access of aid, claiming that humanitarian pressure is one of the few ways to force Hamas to release the hostages. “No training is in progress to allow humanitarian aid in Gaza”, April, April 16, the Minister of Defense, Israel Katz transmitted on Wednesday.

The war in Gaza began after the Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023, resulting in the deaths of 1,218 people, most civilians. Since then, the Israeli offensive has led to the death of over 51,000 people in Gaza, according to the Ministry of Health in the territory.
