An 86-year-old man was taken by SMURD helicopter after an explosion. Firefighters, horrified by what they found in the house: eight cylinders connected in series

An explosion without fire took place on Friday in Ungureni, Vadu Săpat commune. An 86-year-old man suffered burns to his face, being picked up by a SMURD helicopter. The old man's home was destroyed by the explosion.

According to firefighters, the victim was found conscious and initially received medical attention at the scene from the EMS crew.
Two special fire trucks and a SMURD crew from the Mizil Detachment, as well as a mobile intensive care SMURD ambulance from the 2nd Ploiești Detachment, were urgently mobilized to the scene. The SMURD helicopter was also requested in support. As a result of the explosion, one person was surprised and injured.” ISU Prahova sent, quoted by Prahova's Information.

Later, the old man's condition worsened:
“The victim has been intubated and will be picked up by the EMS helicopter for transport to a hospital facility.”
Inside the house where the explosion occurred, the firemen discovered eight cylinders of 60 liters each, connected in series to feed the heating plant.
Crews intervened to disconnect and secure them to remove any further risk.

The intervention forces are continuing to check the area to ensure that there are no other people affected and to eliminate any dangers left after the deflagration.
We remind you that, in February, the explosion of a bottle in a household in a locality in Prahov resulted in the injury of a 45-year-old woman.
In December, another explosion occurred in a block of flats in the city of Alesd, Bihor county, due to a cylinder. A woman was injured during the explosion, being thrown out of the apartment.
