An African sandstorm and heavy rains have disrupted air traffic to the Greek island of Crete, while a typical spring storm is affecting the country's mainland, blocking most ferries in ports, reports Agence France Presse.
The national meteorological service EMY announced in a statement difficult weather conditions until Thursday in most of Greece, with intense and prolonged rains and storms, as well as a risk of local hail, cites Agerpres.
Authorities in Athens and mainland Greece have issued warnings of heavy rain and strong winds, which are expected to last until Friday.
In Crete, three flights to Heraklion had to be diverted, the Greek National Press Agency (ANA) said.
