The second victim of a tick this year in the Krasnoyarsk Territory was a woman; the bite occurred while visiting the Stolby National Park. Rospotrebnadzor reported this today.

The tick removed from the woman was sent to the laboratory for research, as a result of which tick-borne borreliosis was discovered.

And in the first case of suction this season, when a 12-year-old girl was injured, the tick was not a carrier of infections.

Epidemiologists remind that with the onset of tick activity season, any trip to nature, visiting parks and cemeteries requires compliance with preventive and protective measures.

Previously, experts warned that, depending on weather conditions, the first tick activity would begin to appear at the end of March or in the first ten days of April. In this season, their numbers in the Krasnoyarsk Territory as a whole are projected at the long-term average level. An increase in the number of taiga ticks is expected in the vicinity of Krasnoyarsk, Sharypov, Lesosibirsk and the Ilan-Nizhneingashsky district, as well as an increase in the number of steppe ticks in the vicinity of Minusinsk. At the same time, the number of taiga ticks in the Achinsk area is expected to remain at last year’s level and a decline in steppe ticks in the vicinity of Kansk.
