Many encountered rust on kitchen knives, especially if they stood in the sink or stored moist. Sometimes it seems that everything is gone, and the knife will have to be changed. But there is a way to remove rust without aggressive chemistry and unnecessary efforts. We need only two products that are almost always in the kitchen.
Take the half of the lemon and pour a little salt on it. Wipe the knife blade with lemon, pressing a little. Salt enhances the cleansing effect and slightly polishes the metal.
After that, leave the knife for 5-10 minutes. Citric acid and salt will react with rust and begin to destroy it. Then just wash everything with warm water and wipe it with a soft rag.
Do not forget to dry the knives well after washing. Moisture is the main cause of rust. It is better to wipe them dry immediately after washing.
This method works not only with knives, but also with other kitchen metal items: spoons, forks, even with small kitchen knives. Everything becomes clean, as after the purchase.
