The director of the Krasnoyarsk heating network (a division of the SGC in Krasnoyarsk) reported to the mayor of Krasnoyarsk Sergei Vereshchagin on measures to close the unecological boiler house.

The boiler house of the Electric Car Repair Plant is one of the oldest energy facilities, located in the very center of Krasnoyarsk; it is included in the Comprehensive Emission Reduction Plan approved by the Government of the Russian Federation. Siberian Generating Company has committed itself to replacing the heat load of consumers with the capacities of Krasnoyarsk CHPP-2.

The first work to replace the outdated facility took place in 2021. Then the largest consumer of the EVRZ boiler house, the Balance business center, and part of the residential sector with a total heat load of 10.7 Gcal/h switched to heat supply from CHPP-2. To achieve this, SGK contractors installed 396 meters of new heating networks along Maerchak and Tolstoy streets.

The transfer of all consumers of the EVRZ boiler house to the power of the SGK CHPP is planned to be completed by the end of 2026. This is necessary not only to reduce the burden on the environment in the city center, but also to ensure reliable heat supply to consumers. In January of this year, during the period of abnormal frosts, SGC specialists participated in the restoration of the equipment of this boiler house. At the moment, 89 objects remain in the EVRZ boiler room area, of which 50% are residential buildings, as well as kindergarten No. 52.

To replace the heat load of consumers of the EVRZ boiler house, SGK specialists and contractors will build a new central heating unit with a capacity of 29.3 Gcal/h, lay 200 meters of electrical networks and 75 meters of pipelines. The right bank pumping station (PNS-23) will also be reconstructed, where an additional 6 new pumps will be installed. The total cost is estimated at 110 million rubles. Replacing the boiler house with the power of a thermal power plant will reduce emissions of hazardous pollutants into the atmosphere of Krasnoyarsk by 482.6 tons relative to gross emissions in 2017.

The day before, the preparations for replacing the EVRZ boiler house were assessed by the head of Krasnoyarsk, Sergei Vereshchagin. Director of the Krasnoyarsk Heating Network Sergei Ivanov told the head of the city about the ongoing activities to switch the load of the boiler house to the capacities of the Krasnoyarsk CHPP-2 and emphasized the importance of the project for city residents.

“The company is ready to begin the necessary construction and installation work in May 2026. The replacement of the EVRZ boiler house is a continuation of SGC’s long-term policy of energy modernization and our contribution to improving the ecology of Krasnoyarsk,” said the head of the Krasnoyarsk Heating Network.

The head of Krasnoyarsk, Sergei Vereshchagin, drew attention to the need to start supplying heat from the thermal power plant to EVRZ consumers before the end of this year.

“During the January frosts, a significant proportion of calls about the cold in apartments were from residents whose houses are connected to the EVRZ boiler room. The problem of the facility’s unpreparedness in its current state to work in difficult conditions became obvious. The company's management understands this. I am grateful to my colleagues from SGC for helping to launch the equipment then. It is now very important to jointly implement measures, first of all, to reconnect housing and social institutions,” the head of Krasnoyarsk emphasized.

Let us remind you that replacing non-ecological heat sources is an important area of ​​work to reduce emissions into the city’s atmosphere. As part of the federal project “Clean Air”, 37 such boiler houses with a load of almost 400 Gcal/h have been closed in Krasnoyarsk since 2018, their consumers have been transferred to the capacities of the Siberian Generating Company.
