The famous Ukrainian presenter Anatoly Dyachenko died in an accident in the summer of 2005 – he was 46 years old. The artist, who was at the peak of his career, was buried at the Baikovo cemetery. The online publication “GORDON” tells what preceded the fatal accident.
Who is Dyachenko
The actor starred in many Ukrainian feature and television films, including the musical “Chasing Two Hares.” The Day publication wrote that the actor was a devoted friend, and by nature – a leader, a merry fellow and a jokester, the soul of the company.
The actor died on July 13, 20 years ago, on a highway near Kyiv.
“The tragedy occurred on Wednesday evening, when the actor and a friend were returning from fishing. The jeep, driven by Dyachenko, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Tatra truck. Anatoly Dyachenko died at the scene of the accident, and his friend, a passenger in the jeep, received serious injuries. One version of the tragedy is a heart attack that could have happened to Dyachenko,” the media wrote citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
Telegraf notes that on the way, the actor called his wife and assured that he would be home in 20 minutes – he planned to clean the fish and cook dinner.

17 years after the tragedy, the actor’s widow, gynecologist Olga Dyachenko, said that she was the first person to arrive at the scene of the accident.
Olga and Anatoly Dyachenko met in Crimea at a banquet. The actor was the host of this event, and Olga was among the guests. At the time of their acquaintance, she was 28 years old, and Dyachenko was 44. They got married in December 2003. For Olga, this marriage was the second, and for Dyachenko, the third. The couple had no children.
“I arrived when Tolik was still in the car. The only thing that made me feel better was that there was no pain. He was sleeping, he felt good. He didn’t feel anything,” she said.
According to the actor’s widow, what helped her survive the tragedy was that her husband treated everyone easily.
“I thought, why did this happen to me? And then I realized – thank you that this happened in life. It could not have happened. I am very happy,” she said. “He walked through life easily, cheerfully. After his death, this helped me survive this tragedy, because I understood that Tolik treated everyone lightly, and you also need to treat everything lightly.”
Where was the actor buried?
As Telegraf notes, the actor was cremated after his death, and the ashes were buried at the Baikovo cemetery, next to his father’s grave. A granite slab with an image of Dyachenko was installed at the burial site.
The actor's widow said that seven years after the death of her second husband, she married for the third time. In this marriage she had a daughter.
