

“It is majestic and original. It is cold and icy, but a unique life is seething around it. It is white and at the same time striking in color. It may seem monotonous, but in fact it has very different conditions in different parts. It is extremely remote, but there is a native Ukrainian corner there,” the message says.
Its authors noted that Antarctica is the least studied continent on the planet.
“Antarctica does not belong to any country, but only to all of humanity as a whole, it is a continent of peace and security and is open to scientific activity. We hope that this beautiful fragile world will remain this way for future generations,” the polar explorers wrote.
Context
The Ukrainian Antarctic station “Akademik Vernadsky” is located on Galindez Island. Previously, it belonged to Great Britain and was called “Faraday”. On February 6, 1996, the station was transferred to Ukraine and renamed.
The station conducts scientific research on climate change, the ozone hole, and studies animals and plants.
