Since May 18, the volume of water discharge at the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station has reached 5 thousand cubic meters per second. This means that the level of the Yenisei will rise even higher and there is a potential risk of new flooding of low-lying areas along the river, the Agency for Civil Defense, Emergency Situations and Fire Protection of the region warned.

If there is a threat of flooding, residents are advised to contact their local authorities. The heads of settlements, as well as the chairmen of the SNT (DNT), were instructed to conduct door-to-door visits and hand out safety notices.

The regional government reported that On May 21, a meeting of the Yenisei Basin Water Management will take place, at which a decision will be made on the further operating modes of the hydroelectric power station.

Today in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, flooding persists in 10 municipalities: 156 personal plots, 9 underground and 3 garden houses. Also in 9 municipalities, 18 sections of roads were flooded. In the affected areas, authorities and operational services continue to monitor river levels. The situation is under control. So, last weekend, rescuers monitored the flood situation in the village of Aleksandrovka, Bogotolsky district. In agreement with the authorities, temporary transportation of local residents on boats was organized. Over the weekend, 37 people were transported this way. On Monday morning, rescuers returned to the location due to the stabilization of the situation.
