VIDEO Nicușor Dan: The parties have been attacking for a long time, they gave us the opportunity to get used to it / What he answers when asked if he still wants Bolojan prime minister

President Nicușor Dan describes the operation of the Coalition as “a combination of administrative and political play”. He says that despite the attacks, the ruling parties are “cooperating when it comes to taking some measures”.
President Nicusor Dan said, on Monday evening, answering a question from journalists, that the attacks between the parties in the Coalition are not new, “so they gave us the opportunity to get used to it”.
“The parties have been publicly attacking each other for a long time, so they gave us the opportunity to get used to this situation. On the other hand, when it comes to taking some measures, such as the issue with the fuel excise, we see that they cooperate, a combination of administrative with political game, on the administrative side, it works”, declared Nicuşor Dan.
“I don't think a minority government is appropriate”
Asked about the scenario of a minority government, in the context of PSD's continuous threats to leave the government, Nicușor Dan said that he does not think it is “a happy solution for the times we live in”: “The fact that each of the parties that form the coalition today say they want to govern and each has some conditions for this to happen leads us to the idea that they will come to an understanding in one form or another. I don't think a minority government is appropriate.”
Also questioned if he still wants Ilie Bolojan as prime minister, Nicuşor Dan did not give a clear answer, saying that the constitutional powers must be divided in this situation: “We must divide the constitutional powers. The President appoints, the Parliament supports the Government throughout the exercise”.
Asked if he feels prepared to manage a political crisis, in the context of PSD deciding on April 20 whether to leave the government, and what message he has for investors, Nicușor Dan spoke about “responsibility and maturity” in the coalition: “Beyond these tensions, somehow inherent in a coalition of parties with very different audiences and expectations, all the assumed financial objectives have been achieved and there is responsibility and maturity in order not to jeopardize the financial course”.
