An STB driver stole 240 liters of diesel from the vehicle he was driving. The police caught him in the act of stealing

An employee of the Bucharest Transport Company (STB), a tanker driver, was caught red-handed while stealing fuel from the vehicle he was working on, which is currently being investigated for aggravated theft, STB announced on Friday.

The driver stole 240 liters of diesel, according to the company.

“Societatea de Transport Bucharest STB SA announces that, following possible irregularities regarding fuel consumption, it has ordered checks and notified the Police Brigade for Public Transport – DGPMB. As a result of the intervention carried out by the Police, in collaboration with STB representatives, an employee of the company, a tanker driver, was caught in the act while stealing fuel from the vehicle he was working on”, STB transmitted, in a press release press.

According to the same source, following the joint action, approximately 240 liters of diesel were identified on the person, and he is currently being investigated for aggravated theft, based on the evidence provided.

“The close collaboration with the Police Brigade for Public Transport continues, and any suspicion of misconduct is checked with the utmost seriousness. STB deals firmly with any attempt at fraud or theft”, said Andrei Dinculescu-Bighea, general director of STB, quoted in the press release.

STB states that it will continue to make all necessary data available to investigative bodies.
