A new gopher was installed in Krasnoyarsk – this time at the entrance to the Petersburg Bridge IT park. The figurine depicts a rodent with a laptop and is dedicated to the engineers and developers who create and maintain digital infrastructure every day.
As the founder of the St. Petersburg Bridge IT park Andrey Kamotsky noted:
“This good city tradition has reached the specialists of our profession. Our work remains invisible to most people and is not always clear. But as soon as something freezes or stops working, they immediately remember engineers and IT specialists. Now we have our own gopher. He will live in the IT park and help us.”
The author of the project was sculptor Andrey Koshelev. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the region's IT industry.
In the coming days, city residents will choose a name for the new gopher – it will appear on the sculpture.
Let us remind you that in total there are 19 bronze gophers installed in Krasnoyarsk. They can be found near attractions and iconic city locations.
