Karol Nawrocki talks about the strength of common values of Poland and the USA

— Poland and the United States are not only allies. We are a nation built on the same idea: that government should serve its people, not rule them; that freedom must be protected, not managed; that tradition is important because it gives meaning to freedom, said Nawrocki. The president also recalled the historical involvement of Poles in the fight for US independence.

Karol Nawrocki pointed out that both countries, although located on different continents, are united by a common Christian civilization. According to the President of the Republic of Poland, today these values are threatened not only by external but also internal factors. “A nation without identity has no future,” he emphasized.
Criticism of EU policy: “Quick fixes needed”
Although Nawrocki noted that Poland did the right thing by joining the European Union and “wants to stay in it”, he also assessed that the Community requires thorough reforms.
He pointed to the EU's energy policy, which – in his opinion – “is carried out too quickly, without regard to security”, and to migration policy. He also criticized “ideological projects” that are intended to distract Europe from Christian values.

Poland alongside the USA: “Alliances are formed on battlefields”
The president also referred to the military cooperation between Poland and the USA, recalling joint operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. — We do not stand by the US because it is convenient, but because it is the right thing to do. Alliances are created on battlefields, they are built in moments of sacrifice – just like the sacrifice of Polish soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan – said Nawrocki.
“Peace requires strength”
Nawrocki said he agreed with Donald Trump on the need to increase defense spending in Europe and emphasized that Poland was investing intensively in its armed forces. “Peace requires strength,” he concluded.
— Today, Poland is one of the fastest developing countries – we have moved from control to freedom, from dependence to sovereignty – within the lifetime of one generation. We are a country that could finally realize its potential because we chose freedom, concluded the president.
