Mihai Stoica (60 years old), the president of the FCSB Board of Directors, spoke about the situation of the young players in the squad and about the club's plans for the next period. The official of the Romanian champion explained that several footballers eligible for the U21 rule could leave on loan, to benefit from more minutes.
MM Stoica revealed that the decision is closely related to the team's strategy and the need for young players to constantly evolve, not just stay on the bench.
Mihai Stoica, announcement about the departure of Stoian and Toma: “We should think”
The red-blue official announced that he is considering sending Mihai Toma and Alexandru Stoian to other teams, in the form of a loan, where they could get more minutes and develop:
“If we are going to play with an underage goalkeeper, we should think about letting young players who need to play go on loan.
Stoian, Toma, yes. And Mirel likes Stoian very much. He is a player who, I think, is a strikerMihai Stoica declared for fanatik.ro.
Alexandru Stoian and Mihai Toma, less and less minutes at FCSB
The two players eligible for the U21 rule have arrived on the bench in recent months, following the changes in the first “11”. Gigi Becali's decision to start Matei Popa also influenced the rotation in the team, and the minutes for the under field players became less and less.
Alexandru Stoian has been at FCSB for a year, having been transferred from Farul. The forward ticked off 22 matches in all competitions for the reigning champions, scoring 5 goals and an assist. However, in the last 9 games in the Superliga, he collected only 24 minutes, in 8 of them being an unused reserve.
Seen as a variant for the U21 rule, Stoian has serious competition for the position, with Daniel Bîrligea and Mamadou Thiam, much more experienced players. He can also play in the left lane, where FCSB has multiple solutions, such as Cisotti, Tavi Popescu or Olaru.

Not even Mihai Toma had better luck. He ticked off only 13 minutes in the last 9 stages of the Super League, and in the current season he started in the first “11”, but the change in the goal took him out of the calculations, turning him into a backup solution.
