Lidl continues the digitization of the shopping experience by expanding Scan & Go in all stores in Bucharest and Ilfov

Through the Scan & Go functionality, Lidl customers can scan products with their mobile phones as they choose them from the shelf. Items are automatically added to a virtual basket in the Lidl Plus app, and the total value of your purchases can be tracked in real time throughout your visit to the store. Thus, customers can put the products directly in the shopping cart and can more easily manage both the list of products and the budget allocated to shopping.

For bulk products, stores where the functionality is available are equipped with smart scales with automatic recognition. After weighing, they generate a price tag that, once scanned, adds the product to the virtual cart in the app.

The expansion of Scan & Go in all Lidl stores in Bucharest and Ilfov marks a new step in the development of digital services integrated in the Lidl Plus application. Through constant investment in technology, Lidl continues to meet consumer expectations by offering solutions that make the buying process simpler, more transparent and more efficient. How Scan & Go works

To use the Scan & Go functionality, the process is simple and intuitive:

● Accessing the “Scan & Go” option from the Lidl Plus application;

● Making the check-in in the store by activating the localization (geolocation) on the phone for automatic registration in the store. There is also the possibility of an offline check-in by scanning the QR code available at the entrance to the store;

● Scanning of products as they are added to the basket, they are automatically registered in the digital basket in the application;

● At the end of shopping, going to an express cash register (self-service);

● Scanning the Lidl Plus card, when the products scanned with Scan & Go are automatically transferred to the total payment;

● Completing the payment at the express cash register.
