Two residents of Sharypovo were subject to criminal charges for stealing copper cables from the enterprise

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, criminal cases have been initiated against two residents of Sharypovo for the theft of a copper cable from a power unit of one of the city’s large enterprises.
According to the press service of the regional police, a 43-year-old man, doing electrical installation work to provide lighting for the power unit, from the beginning of November 2025 to the end of January 2026, cut copper cables into pieces with wire cutters in a warehouse, cleaned them and twisted them with insulating tape.
At the end of the working day, he attached the workpieces to a belt and took them out of the enterprise to hand them over to a non-ferrous metals collection point. In total, the attacker cut 335 meters of cable and caused damage to the enterprise amounting to more than 75 thousand rubles.
The second suspect, a 37-year-old foreman from the same enterprise, managed to cut 49 meters of cable and deliver it to the collection point in January 2026. The damage to the company from his actions amounted to more than 11 thousand rubles.
The police determined that the men were not related to each other and acted separately, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region clarified.
Criminal cases have been initiated against the men under Part 1 of Art. 158 “Theft”. They face up to 2 years in prison.
