In a statement on its website, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs changed the warning for travelers to level four, which means that it advises against all travel to Cuba due to the deepening energy and fuel crisis, and thus the limited ability to provide assistance in emergency situations, restrictions on air transport to Europe, and the risk of social unrest.

In mid-February this year. the ministry raised the warning for travelers to Cuba to level three, advising against non-essential travel. According to data from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there are 200 Poles in Cuba.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Havana is monitoring the situation and will inform about significant changes regarding flight operations on the facility's social media.

Cuba is struggling with a deepening economic crisis, which is largely the result of the US embargo on oil imports from Venezuela and the threat issued by Washington against other possible suppliers of the raw material. In addition, the island is still struggling with the effects of the devastating Hurricane Melissa, which hit it at the turn of October and November 2025. (PAP)
