An Iranian drone attacked Dubai airport. Video

“For the safety of passengers, airport staff and airline crews, operations at Dubai International (DXB) have been temporarily suspended,” the statement said. The airport's operations were later resumed.




The Euronews correspondent was on board an Emirates plane en route to Cape Town at the time of the attack. According to the agency, an Iranian drone exploded near the terminals, after which black smoke rose above the airport.

The plane's passengers were evacuated to shelter at one o'clock.

The country's Defense Ministry said on March 7 that the UAE's air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 15 ballistic missiles and 119 drones on Saturday as part of a new wave of attacks.

Since the start of the Iranian attacks, the UAE has detected 221 ballistic missiles, destroying 205 of them. More than 1.3 thousand drones were also recorded, most of which were intercepted.

As a result of the attacks, three people were killed – citizens of Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh, and 112 people were injured.
