Poczta Polska without a president. Sebastian Mikosz canceled

Supervisory board Polish Post decided to dismiss on Wednesdayat Sebastian Mikosz as president of the company's management board. “The request for dismissal was justified by the need to ensure compliance of the company's management policy with the ownership objectives and the need to effectively implement strategic assumptions, including the restoration of the company's market position,” we read in the MAP entry on X.

“Efficient implementation of the Transformation Plan requires clear management decisions and effective dialogue with the owner, employees, social partners and other stakeholders,” we read further.
Who is Sebastian Mikosz?
Sebastian Mikosz has been the president of Poczta Polska since March 2024. Previously, he served as acting president, having been delegated from the supervisory board to manage the company.
In turn, until March 2023, he was vice-president of IATA in Geneva (International Airlines Association). Previously, he was the president of esky.pl, and in the years 2009-2015 – twice the president of PLL LOT.
Since Mikosz took over the reins of Poczta Polska, the company has been undergoing a profound transformation aimed at saving it from financial collapse.
The main element of the recovery plan was significant employment optimization, implemented primarily through the Voluntary Redundancy Program and not filling vacancies.

Poczta Polska – transformation plan
In 2024, the management board of Poczta Polska announced the Transformation Plan, according to which the company is to be gradually transformed into a modern courier, retail, financial and digital company.
The changes are to cover key areas of the Post's operations, such as courier and financial services. The plan also assumes the modernization of IT systems, logistics processes and the sales network. The reason for the changes is the constantly deteriorating financial situation, the company informed.

Poczta Polska is a State Treasury company, the largest postal operator on the domestic market. Its network covers over 7.5 thousand. branches, branches and postal agencies throughout Poland. The company delivers approximately 800 million letters and approximately 80 million parcels annually.
Poczta Polska has significantly reduced employment over the past year. The company carried out a deep staff restructuring. During the year, the number of employees decreased from over 58.7 thousand. to over 50.2 thousand full-time positions.
