Rolls-Royce Ghost II debuts in Poland. Luxury and “hidden” power

Once again in my life I had the opportunity to sit behind the wheel of Rolls-Royce, this time the Ghost II series with a classic combustion drive, but you don't really feel much difference what is under the hood. The brand sets itself the goal of smooth driving and comfort and no matter if we are driven by a fuel -consuming monster or electric unit, RR “brings” in this respect.

Having already driving experience so powerful and – let's not hide – by an expensive car in urban traffic, the proportions of my stress to the pleasure of driving have definitely changed. The former was much less. I quickly got used to the size, and in fact the only nervous moment was parking it in my parking place in the block. However, I do not think that RR owners have also “tight” in life.

Although he sits under the hood in Ghosta V12 with a power of approx. 600 horsepower, in the basic driving mode you can't feel it at all. The car reacts very calmly to touching the acceleration pedal, and to bring out its full power, you have to wait a noticeable moment. After her, however, everything is very dynamically happening.
As I am in favor of a quiet driving, I definitely need the first option and just the awareness that “If I wanted to, I could”. You can believe or not – I did not test its capabilities in this area except for a short start from the lights to the speed limit.
Anyway, you don't have to rush him to make it impressive. Just drive up … shopping for a popular hypermarket. After leaving the store, it turned out that a group of men was watching him on each side, taking pictures. They were very curious what the model was and what its parameters are. And yet he only stood.

Rolls Royce Ghost Series II Black Badge
The world premiere of the new generation of Ghost took place last fall. In Poland, he had to wait until the end of June.
-Rolls-Royce Ghost is above all The most popular model in the history of the brand. It is also a model that is a golden mean for the one who loves to enjoy driving a car, but sometimes – for various reasons – needs to be transported by a chauffeur, orchard comfortably on the rear sofa – emphasizes Magda Konstantynowicz, Communications Manager at Auto Fus Group.
-Rolls-Royce Motor Cars presented the first generation of Ghost in 2009. The model was a brand proposition for a completely new, much younger group of clients waiting for a less statuesque car and more universal than Phantom and one that will be able to personalize in their own personal way-he adds.
The new Ghost is available in three options: “standard”, extended and dark and more powerful. The third one found in my hands. The hallmark of Black Badge Ghosta Series II is darkening of chrome elements – Starting from the famous figurine Spirit of Ecstasy, Pantheon grill for all plates with the RR monogram. – One of the materials used for the interior design is carbon – emphasizes Magda Konstantynowicz.

There is something else: thanks to the appropriate engine configuration, the driver's disposal is an additional 29 HP and 50 Nm of torque compared to the Silver Badge version.
The black package was intended to be a release of an eye by a luxurious brand to the young. In fact, however, it turned out that every generation reaches for him.
Regardless of the Ghost Series II package is now “The most technologically advanced Rolls-Royce model”. – It has a drive on both axles and all swivel wheels. The driver is supported by unique systems. Flagbearer uses cameras to monitor the road in front of the car and properly prepare the suspension for any unevenness. The work of Flagbearer is supported by the Satellite Aided Transmission system using GPS data to choose the appropriate gear to cover the corner depending on its corner – explains the Fus Auto Group representative.
What impresses and how does Ghost disappoint?
As for the experience from behind the steering wheel, I could put it with the words: You get in and swim. Almost literally, because the soft suspension, which so efficiently catches unevenness, makes it possible to swing slightly with this powerful car when reaching the lights and stopping with this powerful car, like a boat.
As for what bothering me in driving, just like in the Specter model, which I had the opportunity to lead, I don't like the location of the side mirrors. The left mirror can cover a large field of view during maneuvering.

It was also burdensome that when passengers used various functions of the car, on the central panel the messages sent navigation, although I do not rule out that this is an option to be turned off in the settings.
Well, but, as I mentioned, I took a group of friends on the “deck” of this riding yacht this time. What did he impress and what disappointed? This is arranged in several points, which sometimes … mutually mutually mutually mutuallyicse.
On the plus side:
- The materials used (including the famous extremely soft rugs, metal airfock grilles)
- headliner with falling stars
- power
- calm
- “mega flowing suspension”
- “It impresses people”
- massage function
- Version of 5-person tested copy at the expense of a more extensive rear armrest
On minus:
- plastic not adapting to the rest of the materials
- “too conspicuous”
- “Too big to a large city”
- technology (no wireless iPhone connection with rear -order passengers; no induction charger at the back)
And finally significant: “that we don't have it forever”.
From the points mentioned above, it is worth stopping for a moment at the technology. Rolls Royce has always positioned himself as a leader of luxury and comfort, but not necessarily electronic novelties and – at least for now – it actually remains. Today, extensive multimedia is already offering much lower -class vehicles, and Chinese manufacturers bring competition in this field to a new level.
Finally, I will only add that the tested copy had quite a “controversial” interior, because it was simply … pink. Luckily, As for the colors, the future owner of Rolls Royce has a lot of freedom. Configuring each model of this brand is basically an infinite multitude of options.
The interior in the color of “peonial pink” was intriguing, but I would choose something else for myself
