Consultations in Cotroceni start at 9:00 a.m., with the PSD delegation. Followed by AUR, PNL, USR, UDMR, the Parliamentary Group of National Minorities, SOS and POT.

UDMR: full delegation, officially announced

The Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania will participate in consultations with a team made up of:

Kelemen Hunor

Miklós Zoltan

Turós Lorand

Tánczos Barna

Cseke Attila.

Kelemen Hunor, the president of the UDMR, conveyed on Friday, May 15, at the meeting of the Council of Union Representatives in Cluj-Napoca, that the formation wants to participate in the government after the elections, but does not rule out the option of the opposition, which it does not consider a threat to the party.

AUR, delegation of three members

The Alliance for the Union of Romanians will be represented by:

George Simion

Dan Dungaciu

Petrisor Peiu.

The Alliance for the Union of Romanians sent, in a statement, that the president must respect the constitutional procedure and designate a candidate for the position of prime minister only after the consultations have been completed.

We want these consultations to be real, effective and loyal, not a legal formality. The parties called to consultations must be able to present their position, the political solution they propose and the conditions under which they can support or participate in the formation of a Government. AUR is the second parliamentary party and represents the will expressed by the vote of millions of Romanians. The President is obliged to respect the constitutional procedure, the role of the Parliament and the principle of democratic representation. The president has a margin of appreciation in appointing the candidate for the position of prime minister, but this appreciation is manifested after consultations, not before them. It must be exercised depending on the parliamentary configuration, the possibility of forming a majority and the result of the consultations provided by art. 103 of the Constitution“, it is stated in a press release of the AUR sent on Sunday,

Diana Soșoacă: the decision to participate, left “in the hands of the people”

The leader of SOS Romania, Diana Șoșoacă, announced, in a video message, that she will ask the Romanians if the party should participate in the consultations in Cotroceni.

Șoșoacă states that neither she nor SOS Romania recognize Nicușor Dan as president, but emphasizes that the Presidential Administration represents the Romanian people, regardless of who holds the position of head of state.

Sosoacă claims that the invitation addressed to SOS and AUR would have come on the basis of “huge scandal” generated by his efforts to suspend the president.

“I would like to know from people if they would like me to go, to meet with Nicușor Dan, and people have to think very carefully about this. So it's not because he wanted to, but because it's a huge scandal and I made a lot of reports and filed this suspension of the president. Otherwise he wouldn't have invited either AUR, or SOS, or POT. Believe me! Maybe they invited POT, well I don't know, POT and abolished“, said Sosoacă, in the video message.
