The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, will receive His Holiness Bartolomeu I, Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, together with His Beatitude Father Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, at the Cotroceni Palace on Monday evening.

The official meeting is scheduled at 18:00, and at 18:30 there will be a decoration ceremony of the Ecumenical Patriarch and the Romanian Patriarchate, according to the Presidential Administration, writes Mediafax.
The distinctions awarded will recognize the contribution of Patriarch Bartholomew I to the promotion of inter-Orthodox dialogue and the support offered to the Romanian Orthodox Church, as well as the role of the Romanian Patriarchate in strengthening national spirituality and promoting Christian values.
The event takes place in the context of the celebration of the Centenary of the elevation of the Romanian Orthodox Church to the rank of Patriarchate and after the consecration, on Sunday, of the painting of the National Cathedral, which gathered thousands of believers and officials.
