In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the prosecutor's office helped a pensioner obtain guardianship over her grandson

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the prosecutor's office helped a pensioner arrange guardianship over her grandson and receive payments for his maintenance.

The press service of the supervisory agency said that in January 2026, the class teacher of one of the students at the Karatuz school began to fear for the fate of the 15-year-old student. She contacted the local commission on juvenile affairs and said that the boy had been living with his grandmother for 4 years. The child’s parents divorced and moved away, and they left him with a pensioner.

Left with her minor grandson, the elderly woman alone coped with a difficult life situation. At the same time, the commission for minors did not help the pensioner and did not involve the guardianship authorities.

“Having received such a response, the pensioner contacted the prosecutor’s office. The supervisory authority made a submission to the commission on juvenile affairs. After the measure was taken, the guardianship authorities began the procedure for registering guardianship and assigned the woman a monthly payment for the maintenance of the child,” the supervisory agency clarified.

In addition, according to the prosecutor's office, the court ordered alimony from the boy's mother. The supervisory authority also established the place of residence of the father, who entered into a notarial agreement with the grandmother on the payment of alimony. The first payments have already been received into the teenager’s account.

An employee of the commission, as well as the supervising deputy head of the district, were brought to disciplinary liability. At the initiative of the prosecutor's office, the boy's class teacher was rewarded.
