The authorities of the Republic of Moldova are considering several measures to deal with the energy crisis that looms over the Prut after the decommissioning for an as yet undetermined period of the 400 kV Isaccea-Vulcănești overhead power line (LEA), the main route through which Moldova imports electricity from Romania, the most important source of supply for the neighboring country.
