A PSD deputy announces that he will vote for the party's exit from the government

Deputy Bogdan Toader, one of the leaders of PSD Prahova, announces on Monday that he will vote for the formation's exit from the Government, emphasizing that since the formation of the current coalition, he advocated against the alliance of social democrats with PNL and USR, informs News.ro.

“I will vote for PSD's exit from government in the internal consultation that will take place on April 20. I said it from the beginning: PSD should not have entered government together with PNL and USR. It was not and is not the time for such an alliance, especially when these parties continued to consider PSD “absolute evil”, Bogdan Toader wrote on Facebook.

The deputy accuses PNL and USR of taking decisions contrary to the interests of the population.

“We cannot build anything solid in a climate of mistrust and constant attack. Moreover, we cannot move forward with the PNL and USR when their decisions are far from the real needs of the people,” continued Toader.

He believes that the political moment that Romania is going through is one that “demands clarity and responsibility”, showing that, “beyond any political calculation, people must remain the priority”.

Internal referendum on April 20

The PSD leadership decided, in a meeting of the National Political Bureau that lasted about an hour, that the internal consultation that Sorin Grindeanu has been talking about since the end of December will take place on April 20, HotNews sources say.

It is an internal referendum, through which party members will be asked if they want PSD to remain in government and if so, in what form – with or without Ilie Bolojan, with or without USR.

“We are doing this consultation for the PSD. It is a consultation primarily for us, which starts from our analysis, first a self-evaluation, in the government and the coalition, of the ministers, and then of the entire coalition and the entire government”, declared Sorin Grindeanu, at the end of the PSD meeting.

“Immediately after the consultation, we will act in accordance with what the PSD members decide,” Grindeanu said.
