BREAKING Donald Trump announces that he has been negotiating peace with Iran for two days

Donald Trump announced that the United States has been negotiating an end to the war with Iran for two days, with the American president announcing that he has extended by five days the ultimatum given to the Iranians, in which he threatened to strike their energy production plants.
“I am pleased to inform you that the United States of America and Iran have had, over the past two days, very constructive and fruitful discussions regarding a full and final resolution of the conflict between us in the Middle East,” the US president wrote on his network, Truth Social.
“Given the content and tone of these in-depth, detailed and constructive discussions, which will continue throughout the week, I have instructed the Department of War to postpone all military strikes against Iran's power plants and energy infrastructure for a period of five days, subject to the success of the ongoing meetings and discussions,” added Donald Trump.
The US president's announcement comes after the ultimatum he gave on Saturday evening demanding the opening of the Strait of Hormuz would have expired on Monday at 23:44 GMT (Tuesday 01:44 in Romania).
For its part, Iran had warned that if its energy infrastructure was attacked, it would completely close this crucial sea crossing point. It also threatened on Monday morning to attack key infrastructure in the Middle East. “You strike, we strike,” Iran threatened.
