The fire engulfed the warehouse and spread to other buildings; there were no casualties as a result of the incident.
According to law enforcement officials, a version of deliberate arson is now being considered. Special services, in particular anti-terrorism units, are also taking part in the investigation, and the prosecutor's office is monitoring the case.
According to media reports, a group called The Earthquake Faction allegedly claimed responsibility for the arson, declaring an attack on the “production center” of Israeli weapons and citing political motives. Law enforcement officers are checking these statements.
LPP Holding reported that the fire occurred at one of their facilities, but denied information about the production of Israeli drones. The manufacturers stated that the corresponding project with the Israeli company Elbit Systems was never implemented.
At the same time, as noted in another Aktuálně.cz article, the possible motives for the terrorist attack may be broader than the group’s statements of protest against cooperation with an Israeli company.
The media writes that the company actively cooperates with Ukraine and supplies unmanned systems and military technologies that Kyiv uses in the war against the aggressor country, Russia. It is this area of activity that can be considered as one of the possible motives, in addition to the stated ones.
The investigation is considering several versions of the incident and does not exclude that the incident may be related not only to protests against Israel, but also to the broader context of the international security situation.
