Chuck Norris, the memes that made him famous for a new generation

With the rise of social media, the image of Chuck Norris, a successful name in martial arts and a legendary actor in the film industry, became the source of inspiration for viral memes in the online environment, which outlined the myth of an all-powerful man and caused amusement around the world.

Chuck Norris died on Thursday in Hawaii at the age of 86, according to the announcement made by the actor's family on Friday.

Norris, who made his film debut in 1968 with the role in The Wrecking Crew, said in 1982 that he wanted to “project a certain image of a hero on the screen”.

“I had seen a lot of anti-hero movies where the main character was neither good nor bad. You had no one to root for,” the actor said.

Over time becoming one of the toughest names in Hollywood action movies, this seemingly invincible aura of Chuck Norris' roles inspired memes that quickly went viral online.

These funny images made him known to generations who were born after the peak of successful productions like Walker, Texas Ranger (1993-2001) or An Eye for an Eye (1981).

“Death was once one step away from Chuck Norris”, is the ironic message of one of the most famous memes centered on the legendary American actor.

  • “Chuck Norris' calendar goes straight from March 31st to April 2nd. No one fools Chuck Norris”
  • “Only one man beat Chuck Norris. His name? Chuck Norris”
  • “Chuck Norris can make ice cubes in the oven”
  • “When Chuck Norris was born, he drove his mother home”
  • “The only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he was wrong”
  • “Chuck Norris can cut a hot knife with butter”
  • “A snake bit Chuck Norris. The snake died two days later”
  • “Chuck Norris hit the Earth once. He didn't stop spinning”
  • “Arms carry him to them for protection”
