The US lifted sanctions on a number of individuals and companies associated with Russia

On March 18, the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) updated its list of sanctioned individuals and entities and removed several individuals and entities from it. The department published the corresponding decision on its website.

Individuals and organizations that were previously subject to sanctions due to ties with the aggressor country Russia and possible actions against US national security were removed from the list.

Among those removed from the list:

  • Evgenia Sergeevna Tyurikova (also known as Smirnova and Dyatkova), Russian citizen, born in Sevastopol, lived in Moscow;
  • Turkish citizen Berk Turken, as well as related companies BSB GRUP INTERNET VE YAPAY ZEKA TEKNOLOJILERI ANONIM SIRKETI, BSB GROUP;
  • Boris Gennadievich Vorontsov – Russian citizen from Moscow;
  • FUTURIS FZE company registered in the United Arab Emirates.

The reason for such actions has not yet been explained by the US Treasury.
