“It's official! Romania starts exports to China. Today the export protocols between Romania and China were signed for thermally treated poultry meat, dairy products and aquatic products. In a maximum of 2 months we will also start exporting cereals and we are in advanced discussions to start exporting pork and processed pork products”Florin Barbu wrote on his Facebook page.

According to the minister, Romania has the capacity to produce, investments of 2 billion euros are underway in processing factories and it is building the largest pig slaughterhouse in southeastern Europe. “Together with Romanian farmers and processors, we transform Romania into the largest producer of food from the region”Barbu pointed out.

The president of ANSVSA, Alexandru Nicolae Bociu, signed three sanitary-veterinary protocols with the representatives of the General Administration of Customs from the People's Republic of China, documents that regulate the inspection and quarantine conditions for thermally treated poultry meat, dairy products exported from Romania and wild aquatic products destined for the Chinese market.

According to a press release from the National Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA), the technical and food safety component is an important pillar of the official visit that the Romanian delegation is making to the People's Republic of China, between March 16-20.

Along with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Florin-Ionuţ Barbu, and the Ambassador of Romania to the People's Republic of China, Dan-Horia Maxim, the delegation also includes the president of ANSVSA, Alexandru Nicolae Bociu. The finalization of these agreements and the consolidation of the Romanian-Chinese partnership offer Romanian companies a stable legal framework and the predictability necessary to access new consumer segments, thus consolidating Romania's presence on the global market, states ANSVSA.
