More than ten apartment blocks, about ten private houses, a school and several administrative buildings were damaged during the attack, Gusev said on the Telegram messaging app. “Our city was subjected to one of the strongest drone attacks since the beginning of the special military operation.” he said, using Moscow's official term for the war in Ukraine, according to Agerpres.

The exact extent of the damage in the city of Voronezh, located 470 km from Moscow and about 250 km from the border with Ukraine, is not yet clear. Reuters says it could not independently verify these reports.

Ukraine says it is attacking targets inside Russia to disrupt the Kremlin's war effort and in response to repeated attacks on Ukrainian cities and infrastructure, including energy facilities.
In another episode of the conflict, Russia on Friday fired a hypersonic missile at a site in Ukraine near NATO member Poland, an attack described by Kiev's European allies as an attempt to deter them from continuing their support for Ukraine.
