Nitro-Chem doubles production. Poland, the “pearl in the crown”, will cover the world with TNT

Nitro-Chem Chemical Plant in Bydgoszcz will double TNT production within three to four years, currently amounting to 10,000 tons per year. On Monday, the company signed a contract with PROZAP from Grupa Azoty for the design of a new production installation.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski and the Deputy Head of the Ministry of State Assets Krzysztof Gołota were present at the signing of the contract.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that “doubling TNT production will make Nitro-Chem the main partner guaranteeing global security.”

– Polish security production, which has its heart in Bydgoszcz, is a desired asset in every country in the world, from those that spend much more on defense than us, such as the United States, which is a partner of Nitro-Chem, to those that are already announcing today that they will have to enter into such partnerships – said Gawkowski.

– Nitro-Chem is the jewel in the crown of the Polish defense industry. Strengthening the Polish arms industry without TNT is impossible. Building Poland's strategic place in the NATO ally without TNT is impossible, he added.

Gawkowski also pointed out that the lack of President Karol Nawrocki's signature on the act implementing the EU SAFE program was, in fact, a veto of the entire strategic thinking to expand the Polish arms industry.

– There is no time to build new, uncertain financial engineering that may last two or three years, when in three or four years there will be a new TNT production line – noted the Deputy Prime Minister.

Deputy Minister Gołota emphasized that almost the entire NATO relies on Nitro-Chem when it comes to high-energy materials and there is no better TNT in the world in terms of quality than that from Bydgoszcz.

The president of the Polish Armaments Group, Adam Leszkiewicz, pointed out that the production of TNT in Polish arms exports is one of the key, if not actually key, positions.

Leszkiewicz noted that the creation of a new Nitro-Chem production line is one of the most important strategic projects of PGZ. He said that the cost of the entire investment is estimated at PLN 1-1.5 billion.

The design works are to be financed by Nitro-Chem, and the implementation of the project is to use funds from PGZ and commercial financing, and, if necessary, also from the Capital Investment Fund.

The Nitro-Chem plant is part of the Polish Armaments Group. The company is a leading manufacturer of explosives in the world, and its products are shipped to almost all continents. The recipients are clients, among others: from the United States. Canada, Turkey, Germany, Ukraine, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Great Britain and France. (PAP)
